Like many large cities, Atlanta has been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Oakhurst Medical Centers, a nonprofit that provides healthcare to underserved groups in and around the city, needed a way to protect its staff and patients through remote consultations.

A grassroots medical option for the underserved and uninsured

  • Challenges 

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Oakhurst Medical Centers needed a way to provide testing and care to those who sought it, while minimizing staff and patient-to-patient exposure.

  • Results

    AT&T connectivity enabled Oakhurst Medical Centers to establish COVID-19 testing sites at 4 locations, and a centrally located drive-through site. Patients can remain in their cars and have virtual medical appointments on tablets with physicians.

  • Solution

    Oakhurst uses AT&T Business mobility and internet services, as well as fax and landline capabilities. AT&T hot spots provide connectivity between the facilities’ drive-through tents, parking lots, and medical staff in the facility.
