AT&T IP Flexible Reach Customer Portal: Department Administrator Support

About Authorization Codes

Authorization codes can help you manage outbound calling. If authorization codes are provisioned for your group, you can require individual users in your department to enter an authorization code when making calls (except for emergency or repair calls) outside the group.

When making an outside call, the system prompts the user to enter the authorization code followed by the pound sign (#). (The authorization code must come from the list of codes provisioned for the group.) If the code entered is valid, the user hears a confirmation announcement and the call proceeds. The system captures the valid authorization code entered by the user in the accounting information (Call Detail Record) generated for that call.

Enterprise and Group Administrators create and manage authorization codes. As a Department Administrator for the AT&T IP Flexible Reach Customer Portal, you can assign authorization code status to your department's users, but you can't edit the codes. To view a list of the group's authorization codes, use the Download Authorization Codes List feature.

Note: To view your department's authorization code activity, run the Authorization Code Summary Report.
