IDC MarketScape names AT&T Business a major player in CPaaS
AT&T, the only telecom honored in 2021 vendor assessment, recognized for its API Marketplace and pre-packaged APIs for websites, apps, and platforms

AT&T Business has been named a major player in the “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Communications Platform as a Service 2021 Vendor Assessment (doc #US46746221, May 2021)” for its comprehensive portfolio of API-based cloud communications services.
Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) is a cloud-based platform that enables developers to add real-time communications features to their own applications without needing to build backend infrastructure and interfaces. An application programming interface (API) is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other.
IDC MarketScape honored vendors whose cloud communication platforms offer multiple embedded APIs, including chat, SMS, voice, video, and related authentication and payments APIs. Vendors also had to have processed at least 1 billion API transactions or voice calls in 2020.
“We are honored that the IDC MarketScape has recognized AT&T, the only carrier represented in the assessment, as a major player in the Communications as a Service market, “ said Rich Shaw, VP of Voice & Collaboration, AT&T.
