What is AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management? It is a mobile data solution that allows businesses to prioritize mission-critical data applications over the AT&T-owned domestic 4G LTE network and is offered as an enhancement to qualified AT&T Commercial Connectivity Service solutions.

While wireless networks continue to expand and evolve, so does customer usage. As a result, there may be instances where extremely high traffic volumes can cause congestion. AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management uses quality of service (QoS) network technology to enable enterprise and government customers to manage which business-application data traffic gets enhanced QoS treatment on the AT&T-owned domestic 4G LTE network, thereby helping them connect their Corporate Responsibility Users (CRUs) to the resources they need most during times of network congestion.

AT&T offers two AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management solutions:

  • AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Enterprise is available to qualified enterprise and government customers, for use with qualified business applications, and includes monthly performance reporting
  • AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Public Safety is available only to qualified local, state, and federal emergency management organizations (such as police and fire departments). This solution is similar to AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Enterprise, except that it also provides priority access to our domestic 4G LTE network to help emergency management organizations stay connected and better serve their communities.

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management uses quality of service (QoS) technology to prioritize your qualified IP-based enterprise application traffic on the AT&T-owned domestic 4G LTE network during times of high demand. AT&T offers two solutions:

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management - Enterprise

Available for qualified enterprise and government customers.

Ideal for:

  • Real-time interactive applications including voice, video, and other collaborative tools
  • Mission-critical business applications including logistics, dispatch, monitoring, CRM, or ERP
  • Machine-to-machine applications including command and control, telematics, credit card transactions, and monitoring

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management - Public Safety

Available for qualified local, state and federal emergency management organizations only (e.g., police and fire departments).

Ideal for:

  • Real-time interactive applications including voice, video, and other collaborative tools
  • Mission-critical business applications
  • Machine-to-machine applications

Also offers priority access to the AT&T-owned domestic 4G LTE network during times of network congestion, helping first responders stay connected to serve their communities.

    • Network VPN
    • IP-Enabled Permanent Virtual Circuit
  • 4G LTE-compatible devices

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management is provisioned as a bolt-on feature to your CRUs’ qualified wireless data plans.

Facilitating airline operations

Spotty Wi-Fi and network congestion around airports can cause work—and flights—to slow down. AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Enterprise could provide gate agents, pilots ready for takeoff, and baggage handlers on the tarmac the ability to prioritize baggage and flight tracking applications, thereby helping employees communicate efficiently using their mobile devices during times of peak network usage.

Offering mobility solutions for utility companies

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Enterprise could be used with SCADA applications, thereby enabling utility companies to wirelessly monitor and manage critical infrastructure, even during times of unusually high traffic.

Enabling critical personnel with AT&T Enhanced Push-To-Talk

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Enterprise could be used with AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk to help employees working in major venues (sports arenas, convention centers) to communicate during periods of peak usage like a half time show or major convention address.

Prioritizing access for public safety first responders

AT&T Dynamic Traffic Management – Public Safety could be used by police, fire and EMT personnel during emergencies to enable them to get priority access to the AT&T-owned domestic 4G LTE network, thereby helping them get the critical information they need when network resources are in demand.
