LEC Mux Total Service provides wholesale customers with the ability to aggregate DS-1 DS-3 and OC-3 intraLATA special access services to a higher bandwidth, using a DS-3 through OC-12 multiplexed facility (Mux) located in a LEC serving wire center (SWC). Some of the most common applications for LEC Mux Total Service are:
- Support backhaul from MTSOs
- Multiplex several lower-speed private line circuits, allowing wholesale
customers to sustain and grow wholesale customers' bases through end-user
resale initiatives
- Expand into new markets without costly network investments
- Serve multiple end user customer locations from a single LEC Serving Wire Center (SWC)
- Reduces cost of investing in network infrastructure to accommodate
expansion
- Improves provisioning of end-user customers’ service where the LEC Mux
already exists with capacity
- Allows customers to take advantage of intraLATA DS-1 and DS-3 pricing by the local provider, enabling customers to combine their special access services and LD Data Transport services for a complete service solution
