Improving Website Performance with Content Distribution Networks

Executive Summary

With the demands of today's websites, expectations can't be met with a do-it-yourself, single-server architecture. A Content Distribution Network (CDN), in which geographically distributed "nodes" deliver the same content as a company's primary server, is a better approach.

Users are served from the optimal node for faster delivery, and sites become less vulnerable to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and other business continuity threats.
