Domestic Toll-Free Service
Understanding the different options available to you in the United States.
AT&T Toll-Free Readyline® Service allows interstate and intrastate callers to reach you using a toll-free number or numbers linked to your existing local telephone number. This service is designed to address business calling needs from 3 to 200 hours per month. Calls can originate from domestic locations (U.S. Mainland, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands), and Canada. The UNIPOTS feature of AT&T Toll-Free Readyline® allows you to have up to ten Toll-Free numbers working on the same telephone line.
AT&T Toll-Free Megacom® is an inbound nodal service used for medium to high volume usage. It is a direct-connect nodal service that terminates on a T1.5 dedicated access facility. T1.5 access is a type of nodal service access providing direct-connect private lines from the AT&T network switch to the customer's premises. One T1.5 line carries 24 circuits that can be used for Toll-Free calls, other types of incoming and outgoing calls, and data transmission.
Megacom® accepts calls from U.S. calling locations (U.S. Mainland, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam & the Northern Mariana Islands) and Canada.
A variety of access arrangements are available with AT&T Toll-Free Megacom®. Shared Access for Switched Services (SASS) lets you carry both Toll-Free Megacom® and outbound calls on the same T1.5 access. With SASS, channels are not dedicated to a specific service; SASS allows Toll-Free and outbound services to simultaneously share access without dedicating specific channels to either service. Static Integrated Network Access (SINA) allows Toll-Free Megacom®, outbound, and data calls on the same T1.5 access. With SINA, each channel is dedicated to one specific service. Split Access for Flexible Egress Routing (SAFER) is a protection option that allows you to receive Toll-Free calls through an alternate network switch if calls cannot be completed through you primary terminating switch. This is available only with nodal access.
Toll-Free Megacom® is a feature reach offer including capabilities like Call Overflow which is a call re-direction option that automatically overflows calls to standard telephone lines at the same location when the Toll-Free Megacom® facility is busy or unavailable. Dialed Number Identification Service (DNIS) identifies the specific Toll-Free number dialed when multiple numbers are terminating at a single location. This allows equipment at your premises to route the call to a specific department or group of agents within the facility. Trunk Subgroup Overflow allows calls to overflow among trunk groups that terminate in the same AT&T network switch. The overflow occurs when all trunks in the primary trunk group are busy.
